RAGBRAI

I'm getting closer to my trip across Iowa...I'll be trying to get some longer bike runs over the next couple of weeks. I've got about 850 miles on my new bike, I've been riding it since April. Other than March, I've been keeping my miles up ok. I did the Elephant Rock Ride in early June, my first organized ride. I did 100 km (62 miles) with a cumulative climb of 3000 feet and a real climb of 1200 feet from 6200' to 7400'. I'm still getting about 100 miles per week commuting.

RABRAI will be a challenge for me. 454 miles over 7 days with 10000 new friends. I'm getting stuff together for the trip and will start posting on how things are going. My plan is to blog every day during RAGBRAI even if it is a short post saying I'm still alive!

Stay tuned....

Hygiene

Good ride on Sunday with Helen to Hygiene. About forty miles round trip from Louisville. Nice weather for a ride, but a little hot on the way home. We had some headwinds from time to time, but they turned into tailwinds on the homeward ride on Baseline.
This was my first trip to Hygiene, I'm happy that Helen showed me the route...she kept the pace down so I could keep up! It was good to get in a forty mile trip in preparation for the RAGBRAI in July.
